The Virtuous Wife

The Virtuous Wife

Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.  She brings him good, not harm all the days of her life. Proverbs 31:11-12

He who finds a Wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22

An excellent Wife is the crown for her husband…Proverbs 12:4

Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a Prudent Wife is from the Lord. Proverbs 19:14

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone.  I will make a Helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

Ladies-you are a gift to your husband from the Lord!

You are on an assignment from God to help him. You are to share his responsibilities, to respond to his nature, you should willfully cooperate with him in God’s plan for your life together, and be subject to him.

Likewise Wives, be subject to your own husbands so that, even if any are disobedient to the Word, they will be won over without the Word by the conduct of the Wives. I Peter 3:1 (the Word is the Bible)

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. Ephesians 5:22

In this way Ladies you are loving your husband the way Christ loves us. You are willfully making a decision to love regardless of how he loves you. Christ willfully chooses to love us regardless of how messed up we may be.  Love is not just a feeling it is a decision we make and an action we take.  This is how you bring your husband good all the days of your life,  you decide to love him as Christ loves you. The more you fall in love with Christ our Savior, the easier it is to love others more than yourself.    The Virtuous Wife understands this love and her character reflects what she learns through her intimate relationship with Christ.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers (our spouses). I John 3:16

I encourage you to spend some time studying scriptures about God’s love for us and how He showed His love for us. I encourage you to pray for Him to show you ways you can serve the people in your life, especially your spouse.  Make a commitment to help your husband. Focus on your husband, periodically ask yourself are you putting him before yourself. Be mindful of your actions and constantly ask yourself will your actions help or hinder your spouse. Remember, this isn’t the measuring stick for how to be as the Virtuous Woman but, the goal towards which we should be moving.

Father, thank you for loving us before we even knew to love you back.  Thank you for sending Jesus to show us how to love others.  Father, thank you for my sister wives who are learning every day to love like Christ.  Father thank you for deciding we would be wives and great helpers to our spouse.  In Jesus Name Amen.

Who Can Find A Virtuous Woman?

Who can find a Virtuous Woman?

Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? For her price is far above Rubies. Proverbs 31:10

This description places her far above many. She may even seem far out of reach to most. Some of you may already be familiar with how hard it is to be her. If you have strived to achieve all that the bible writes about her on your own, take heart she is not the yardstick by which all woman should be measured, but the goal toward which all woman should be moving. The Virtuous Woman is the ideal woman.  She is the woman God wants you to become as you walk with Him. (key phrase you cannot become her unless you are walking with HIM)
He who began this good work in you, will be perfecting it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

Ladies-I don’t know the day or the hour he began this good work in you but, I know it started with a decision that you made to follow Him. You have decided you want to be taught by Him, you want His counsel and you want to be in a relationship with Him.  This decision is what sets you apart and distinguishes you from the rest.

The only advantage this virtuous woman has that helps her to be all Proverbs 31 describes is the decision she made to walk with the Lord. (But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30b)

Here are more scriptures to further emphasize this point:
Proverbs 1:7 The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge. (It’s the starting point and its essence to becoming all He has for you)
Psalm 111: 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His instructions have good insight.  His praise endures forever.
Job 28:28 He said to mankind, “Look!” The fear of the Lord that is wisdom, and to turn from evil is understanding.”

Ladies-we are all already virtuous women because we have all chose the BEST PART, HIM!

Father thank you for making us virtuous women!  Thank you for my sister wife who has been striving to be perfect in her on strength and she now understands that this perfection comes only through walking with You.  Father thank you for choosing us and deciding to have this conversation with us  In Jesus Name Amen

Lord, we gladly choose to be set apart for YOU!
